A Waning Light is my new adventure for Mörk Borg. It comes in a signed and numbered limited edition. Orders are open for the next week, and I’ll print as many copies as are ordered. That’s it.
Also available are a companion album of droning, ambient metal - digital, or as one of 30 cassettes - and a reprint of REGICIDE.
That’s the quick and dirty pitch. If you want more information, keep reading. Otherwise, this button will help you avail yourself of the goods.
A Waning Light
A wild wickhead solicits you for help. His wick is nearly gone, and with it his memories. Escort him into the vast oily swamps of his homeland and rekindle his flame.
A Waning Light is an adventure for Mörk Borg, an oil-soaked bog crawl across the ancient graveyard of the giants to seek the god-tree that births the wickheads.
This adventure is available in print only in a signed and numbered edition. I’ll print as many copies as are ordered, much as I did with REGICIDE last year. It’s available in a few different combinations, all of which can be ordered here.
The signed and numbered zine
The signed and numbered zine plus a digital download of the companion album
The signed and numbered zine plus one of 30 copies of the companion album duplicated onto cassette tape by me using the probably haunted tape deck I found in my loft (this is not a bit, this is a real thing).
The companion album is available as a standalone digital download from itch and Bandcamp.
As well as just being a good adventure, A Waning Light is something of an exploration of memory, identity, and mortality. I’ve written about my memory issues before, and this is an attempt to take this facet of my life and turn it into something I can be proud of.
REGICIDE
The Queen is dead. Pull off her limbs and bury her.
During the Queen’s Jubilee last year I produced an adventure called REGICIDE. As with A Waning Light, I ran a time-limited pre-order and only printed as many copies as were bought. I didn’t intend to reprint it. If you keep reading, you’ll find out why I have!
This new edition isn’t signed and numbered and has an alternate cover, to distinguish it from the original print. I’ll still only be printing as many copies as are ordered during the next week, though. You can pick it up here.
A New Roof!
I started writing A Waning Light because I knew that I was going to have to pay for my ADHD treatment very soon. If you don’t know, I’ve been on an NHS waiting list for 5 years without any joy and recently found out that the adult ADHD service in my area has been suspended. As a result of this I made the decision in January to seek private treatment so that I can get medicated and start trying to get a handle on my brain! This adventure deals with some of the things that I struggle with - mainly memory issues - and I planned to use this launch to help fund some of my treatment.
Things don’t always go according to plan, though. Last week my partner and I discovered that out roof is about to fall off the house and that we need a new one. And I don’t know if you know this, but a new roof doesn’t come cheap. I put all of my work on itch on sale to try and raise some funds to help with these costs and it has helped massively, so if you picked something up I’m very grateful.
This is the main reason I’m also reprinting REGICIDE in this release - because as well as paying for ADHD stuff I also need to put a roof over my head. If you decide to pick up anything from this drop, know that you’re helping me out hugely and I’m very, very grateful for your support.
If you read this far - thank you! I hope you see something you like, and you’ll hear from me again on April 3rd with the normal newsletter.
